Duke City Recovery Toolbox in Albuquerque, New Mexico provides all services needed to develop a personalized drug addiction recovery plan and keep you healthy while you’re on the road to sobriety. We offer medical services to complete your program admission and more.
Intake Medical Services
To admit you to a medication-assisted treatment program, the medical team needs to understand your current health, so every intake appointment includes:
- A physical exam
- Blood work to test for:
- Syphilis
- Hepatitis B
- Hepatitis C
- Tuberculosis (TB) test
- Pregnancy test
We will also gather information about your medical history and current healthcare providers. If you are on any other prescription medication, we will coordinate care with all other prescribing physicians to ensure your safety while on methadone treatment.
Ongoing Medical Services
All participants will be annually screened for TB and pregnancy. These tests may be requested at any time as well.
Participants will also be required to complete urine drug testing at least once each month. Urine drug testing involves multiple samples to prevent false positive or false negative results. Accuracy is of the utmost importance since methadone and suboxone have contraindications with other drugs that can be fatal.
Expanded Medical Services
At Duke City Recovery Toolbox, we understand how time consuming and costly medical care can be. We are hoping to expand our medical services so that participants can receive basic medical care for common illnesses, such as:
- Cold/flu
- Strep throat
- Sinus infection
- Abscesses
Until expanded medical services are available, the on-staff nurse at the clinic can help you with many of your medical questions and concerns. Our nurse has access to our physician at any time, and if an appointment is necessary, we can schedule it or direct you to your primary care provider.
