What Our Physicians Do
The staff physicians and nurses at Duke City Recovery Toolbox offer a variety of medical services, including:
- Substance abuse diagnosis
A formal diagnosis by a licensed practitioner is required for coverage by Medicaid and private insurance.* - Medication prescription and titration
Our physicians determine the type and dosage of addiction recovery medications and titrate levels as participants work to wean off all drugs. - Clinical treatment of acute illnesses
Participants may see a nurse or physician for acute illnesses, such as seasonal infections. - Care coordination and prescription review
Our physicians, assisted by our staff care coordinator, work with your primary care providers and other prescribing physicians to manage side effects and prevent adverse drug reactions, overdose and/or abuse.
Our physicians are highly credentialed and experienced professionals. And in addition to their clinical knowledge, they have excellent “bedside manner,” ensuring you are treated with the dignity, respect and compassion you deserve.
What Our Physicians Do Not Do
The primary focus of the physicians at Duke City Recovery Toolbox is your recovery. Our physicians are not replacements for a primary care provider.
If you do not have a primary doctor, please ask a member of our medical staff for recommendations and/or assistance finding a primary care provider.
